Antioxidants Improve Blood Vessel Health
Antioxidant supplements improve cardiovascular health in people with significant heart disease risk factors. Blood vessel vitality is an important measure of good health. Chemicals called free radicals, which are produced naturally during metabolism, can damage sensitive blood vessels, leading to high blood pressure and vascular disease. An Israeli study showed that an antioxidant supplement containing vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10, and selenium improved blood vessel health in 70 people treated for high blood pressure, compared to a placebo (fake supplement).
