Usually when you find something that seems like it's too good to be true, it typically is. That's not the case with Jay Robb's protein. In fact, his entire line measures up to exactly what they say it will. And that's that Jay Robb's protein is the BEST tasting protein on the planet, it mixes easily, and it helps with fat loss. Sometimes you CAN believe what you read.
Jay Robb's protein line consists of now 3 different kinds of protein: whey protein isolate, egg white protein, and now brown rice protein. Here is my breakdown of each:
Jay Robb's Whey Protein Isolate
Anyone looking for the perfect whey protein isolate has now found their match. There is nothing I could say negative about this product; it's 100% cold-processed cross-flow microfiltered whey protein isolate, virtually carb free, completely fat-free and sugar-free, contains no msg or aspartame, and contains only natural ingredients. It comes in a variety of flavors including chocolate, vanilla (most popular), strawberry, pina colada, tropical dreamsicle, and unflavored which is perfect for baking or making protein pancakes.
Personally I love the stuff. I use it everyday pre and post workout. My favorite recipe so far is to blend one scoop Chocolate Whey protein Isolate in my Magic Bullet blender loaded with ice and water, add a teaspoon of instant espresso and blend away. No need to add any more sweetener to the mix as it's plenty sweet already. Voila! You end up with a frothy mocha-chino that's to-die-for! Plus, it's completely lean and healthy for you. To make this in to a meal replacement I add either some oats or some natural peanut butter.
Jay Robb's Egg White Protein Powder
The purpose of egg white protein is to provide the body with a slower digesting form of protein. This product sounds interesting as you may be thinking why not just add some eggwhites to your shake. Well adding raw egg whites to your protein shake increases your risk of Salmonella poisoning and that is not fun. Jay Robb's Egg White protein powder is the perfect blend of Egg albumin (protein found in eggs), and other natural ingredients (sweetened with Stevia) to provide you with a powder that is almost carbohydrate free, and is completely fat-free AND Gluten-free making this product perfect for those with Gluten intolerance and/or other GI disorders.
On the days I am in a rush and forced to have a protein shake for breakfast, I like to mix half a scoop of Jay Robb's Whey protein isolate with half a scoop of Jay Robb's Egg White protein. All of the flavors taste well together and this just makes for a well-rounded shake. Usually I will add some oats or toast to my morning shake.
Jay Robb's Brown Rice Protein (NEW!)
I have to say, I was a little skeptical when I found out Jay Robb was putting out a protein powder made from rice. But once I checked out the profile and gave it a taste for myself, I saw that this product really has its place in the market. Brown Rice protein is perfect for people who have GI disorders or dairy intolerances. It's made from whole-grain brown rice, and like all of Jay Robb's proteins, contains only natural ingredients and sweeteners. It's very easy to mix, has only 4g of carbs per serving, packs 24g of protein per serving, and won't upset your tummy!
Upon tasting this stuff, I did notice it was a bit thicker than your average whey protein powder, but that is expected considering it's made from rice. All-in-all this is the perfect protein for someone who is not fond of whey proteins or other kinds of protein powders.
Kudos to Jay Robb for putting out some kick butt products! They also make all sorts of delicious bars, vitamins/minerals, fat-burning products, diet books, fish oils, and even shaker cups!! Check out their site for more information at www.JayRobb.com.
