When the going gets rough - keep moving!

When the going gets rough - you have to keep moving!

tiff1We have all had speed bumps in our lives that seems like eternity to drive over.  Sometimes we even stall right on top of it.  Right now I am sitting on top of a speed bump and slowly going over it.  I have had to make changes in my life and sitting with a question mark wondering if it was for the best. Here are some examples of when the going gets rough:

Life changes - Well, a lot has happened in my life in the last month and something I‘m sure most can relate to.  Not to go in to too much detail, I have had to cut out the negative in my life - people, thoughts, and stressors.  It wasn’t easy, but you know how I feel about negativity and toxins in our lives.  Making the change (which I hope you have all been taking notes from my previous articles) for the good and taking the risk in hopes that the outcome turns out to be what you want, is rough.  By being strong enough to do this is something that is envied by the weak.  So do yourself a favor, be strong and stand up for you.

Losing motivation - One thing we must do is keep our bodies guessing.  Recently I’ve been battling lack of motivation.  I am human and wake up sometimes just not wanting to move or go to the gym!  One thing that has been helping is going to the gym with my good friends - the “BUDDY UP” system. They help motivate and surprisingly, they can keep up with me.  So it’s nice to have a push from someone who shares the same lifestyle as you. Also, switch up your tunes.  Pandora is my best friend.  Having music pump you for a workout is amazing.  The rush of a song your feeling - you know what I’m talking about.  The ones that make you want to bust a move in the middle of a set.

Not being prepared - How many times have you forgot to make a meal, being thrown an unexpected situation, or in such a rush mode you forgot something at home.  Meals should be made in advance for the week.  I always carry protein powder in my purse with nuts and oatmeal just in case.  Be prepared for an unexpected situation and take charge.  Be ready to fight back with a plan of attack.  Be strong and know you are in control.  Rush mode is something we all do!  Take the time to plan the night before and leave everything you need for the next day together to minimize being unprepared.

Expect the unexpected - No one is ever ready for the unexpected.  When you are thrown curveballs in life you just have to know how to deal with the situation.  Stay positive with who you are and what you want.  I know when I keep my head straight and focus on my goals, no one and I mean NO ONE, can get in the way.

I could go on and on about all of the rough situations that life throws at us.  However, it is up to us and how we deal with each situation.  Do not beat yourself up or put yourself down.  Just keep your mind focused and your heart happy.  Life is too short to dwell on what isn’t or what you wish you would have done. J UST DO!  And no - not easier said than done.  Even if it’s life changing and extremely hard, listen to your heart and trust that it will all work out for the better.

In the end, remember you have to be strong in any situation life throws at you.  Remember to keep smiling and know that this lifestyle you have chosen is for the better.  We will all be stuck at a point.  We just have to keep our head up and keep moving forward.
