Fitting It In
So, who has a busy schedule? Who wishes there were more hours in the day and more days in the week? You are not alone my friend and time is one of the main reasons people skimp on their fitness goals and eat what is convenient. I am here to help you "fit" it in.
Most busy people loosely plan their day but few plan it with detail or write it down. I found writing a very detailed plan helps me accomplish many tasks in my busy life. Here is what my pre-plan includes:
• Ultimate Goal: What you want to accomplish in your life. For example: I want to donate more time to my health.
• Monthly Goal: What you want to focus on this month to support your ultimate goal. Example: Eat 5 small healthy meals per day.
• Weekly Goal: What you want to work on this week. For me I always incorporate family, friends, and fitness.
• Daily Goal: Something you are going to work on today. I like to test and challenge myself daily because this gives me a sense of accomplishment and keeps momentum. Example: Today = No sweets
• Tasks to accomplish with timeline: List each activity you need to get done and how much time you plan on spending on it. Make sure to be realistic, we cannot save the world in one day :)
• Accomplishments within the task: Example: At the gym I am going to do 30 minutes of cardio and work legs doing 4 sets, 15 reps for all exercises.
• Reward: Make sure to reward yourself with something daily, weekly, and monthly. Example: Daily reward = glass of wine at the end of the day; Weekly = ONE cheat meal; Monthly = new outfit
When executing a pre-plan it is important to stay on task, be detailed, refer to your plan, and stay organized. Try your best not to procrastinate and get the least desirable things done first. Make sure you share your goals, your support group will help and hold you accountable.
Creating a plan may take some discipline and executing it will be a challenge but results will bring motivation. If you have faith in yourself nothing is impossible!!!
