A Workout for Holiday Traveling: “Nikki Fitness Fit Travel Workout”

A Workout for Holiday Traveling: “Nikki Fitness Fit Travel Workout”lisa-steuer-headshot

I don’t get to travel as often as I’d like, but when I do my exercise routine is usually put on hold. I’m sure people can relate to this. First of all, it’s hard to find time to work out when you’re traveling. And to make matters worse you’re away from your gym, you don’t have weights and you only have limited space to work with. Sure you could go on a run, but what if you want a more interesting workout, or one that you can do indoors without having to search for suitable gyms in the area you’ll be traveling to?

fit-travel-workout-dvdThe “Nikki Fitness Fit Travel Workout” is the perfect DVD for such occasions. And during the upcoming holiday season you can take this workout with you if you’re going to be visiting relatives. This 30-minute workout was created specifically for business and leisure travelers, but is also perfect for me since I love workouts I can do in my own home. In addition to the 30-minute workout there is a 5-minute stretch cool-down as well as a yoga stretch, both of which are great options to choose from after doing the full workout.

Nikki’s workout method, or “Slimnastics,” is for busy individuals who want to cut workout time while increasing intensity and boosting metabolism in a full-body workout. Throughout the “Fit Travel Workout,” Nikki exercises in different locations around the world including Chicago, New York City, Tampa, Florida, Mexico, China and Italy. I am used to doing DVDs that take place in a fitness studio, so it was a really cool visual to see Nikki doing the workout in diverse locations. I was surprised at how tough this workout was, but that’s also why I love it. Plus now there’s no excuse to skip your workout while traveling.

The workout makes use of multitasking toning moves, working the upper and lower body and core muscle groups, in order to tone more in less time. In between toning segments are cardio intervals that really got my heart pumping. There is no music accompanying the workout like most other DVDs, but you can visit www.fittravelworkout.com for playlist suggestions and iTunes mixes, which is a cool and unique feature.

Nikki, who is an AFAA-certified New York City personal trainer, group fitness instructor and trained yoga instructor, proves that an effective workout can be done anywhere, and that you don’t need equipment or weights. And it’s perfect because all you need is this DVD and laptop or DVD player, and you’re all set to start this workout wherever you may find yourself. Nikki has a whole line of DVDs that sound very intriguing, including “Booty Camp,” “Nikki Beach Bride” and “Military Wife Workout.” I’d really like to try a few more and add them to my workout routine!

Something to note about this workout is that it does move quickly through the exercises, since the goal seems to be to get the most work done as quickly as possible without equipment. For those with a lower to moderate fitness level, it may be difficult at first to keep up with this workout, but it’s possible with practice.
