Love, Chocolate and Fun

Love, Chocolate and FunWhen I think of Valentine's Day I think of yummy chocolates, dinner and candy. Well, unfortunately that all equals major unwanted excess calories. Although I would love to eat all of those things I will stay far far away. The Arnold Classic, Ms. Bikini International is way too close for me to indulge in all of the Valentine's Day goodies. I do, however, like every girl, want to have a nice Valentine's Day where I can enjoy good food and a nice fun and romantic evening with my honey. I have come up with a few ideas that can help make Valentine's Day a little bit healthier but still fun and exciting.
Have you been doing great with your new or existing diet plan and are worried about messing it up on cupid's day? Well leave your worries behind because you can stay on track and still enjoy a nice dinner.
- Make dinner at home. By cooking your dinner, you know exactly what you are eating. There are many healthy, low fat, low sodium and/or low carb dinner recipes out there, you just have to do some searching. Also, cooking your special someone dinner or cooking dinner together is a cute way of spending time together. You don't have to feel guilty about what you are eating.
- Eat out. If cooking at home is not an option and you decide to go out on a dinner date, lunch, breakfast etc. attempt to pick a somewhat healthier restaurant and when ordering your food, ask if they can cook it as "clean" as possible. Clean, meaning no extra sauces, salt, removing the extra fat from meats and so forth.
- Dessert is Ok? Ugh, but what about those chocolates and sweets?! Well, as long as you have self control a small dessert is okay. After all, it is your cheat meal day right? I know I'm saving my cheat meal of the week for February 14th :). Girls, you know yourself and your body, so if a dessert will throw you off track by causing you to crave sugar for the rest of the month then have something else. How about some fruit? Strawberries, grapes, you know, the typical sexy fruits which are perfect for this day of love and romance.
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT GETTING CLOSE AND DIRTY!
I am all about a fun date and what better day than Valentine's Day to make your date an unforgettable one. Sick of the norm?
-Go Skydiving. How fun would that be? You can be close and cuddly leading up to the jump. Adrenaline will eventually kick in and BAM! you are jumping out of a plane together. Talk about a rush and an experience together! (By the way, all of the nerves and adrenaline will burn some calories, SCORE!!!)
- White water rafting! Getting a workout while having a blast. Count me in.
- Take a dance class together. Try something where you are up close and personal ;)
These ideas can be applied to any special day or occasion. I am very excited to experience a much healthier Valentine's Day this year. Most people tend to relate food and sweets to happiness. Having those things isn't the only way to have a good time. After all Valentine's Day is about love and spending quality time with that special somebody. I hope you all have a beautiful holiday. Until next week!
