Ava Cowan is hitting the professional figure scene hard with FitnessRx for Women as her first cover as an IFBB Figure Pro. It's a dream come true for Ava...
Grab the April issue of FitnessRx for Women (on stands March 3rd, 2010) to find out how Ava trains to burn fat and build muscle. You too can have Abs like Ava!
FitnessRx got the scoop on a few of Ava's favorite things:
FrxW: What's your favorite protein shake recipe?
Ava: I am a chocoholic, so every night my last meal of the day is 1.5 scoops of Milk Chocolate Myofusion Protein, 1 packet of Splenda, and 1 tablespoon of unsweatened cocoa powder, and a few slivered almonds. Lightly blended.
FRxW: What's on your ipod?
FRxW: Your favorite workout gear includes?
Ava: Black Capri leggings, 2 Champion sports bras, Gaspari Nutrition's Red Dragon ribbed black tank and Nike Air Max.
FRxW: If you're stranded on a deserted island, what could you not live without?
Ava: A sushi chef.

FRxW: When traveling, what tips can you give to stick to your diet and training routine?
Ava: A great tip for keeping your food cold while traveling is to buy an insulated soft carry on bag so it makes for a comfortable carry on. Also, bring along some empty large resealable freezer bags and fill them with ice once you have passed security. You can travel comfortably knowing that your food will stay fresh until you arrive at your destination. At that time I suggest going right to the grocery store to buy food to cook while you are away from home. Even if there is no access to a refrigerator, you can use that same carry on bag, reuse those same plastic bags and fill them with ice. I personally bring a hot plate, cutting board/knife, food scale, paper plates, cooking spray and plastic utensils every time I travel. Follow suit and you can enjoy healthy cost effective meals away from home.
