New Book by JB Berns!

This week I attended a fabulous book release party in NYC to celebrate the launch of a brand new fitness book by renowned personal trainer and fitness expert JB Berns. If you're unfamiliar with JB, he's the innovater of the Urban Rebounder (a miniature trampoline workout system and DVD) that is now in over 5000 gyms worldwide and 18 different countries. Consumer Reports calls it one of their top 100 products in 2008. The event went off without a hitch. At the end every guest received a book bag with all of JB's DVDs AND his new brand new book, Do It Or Age Quickly, where we had the opportunity to have him sign.
While there I took the opportunity to find out a little more about JB and his fitness ventures.
SP: JB, I wanna know, what's your Mantra...your belief when it comes to health and fitness.
JB: Small amounts of active fitness/movement is all that is necessary to build a strong body for years to come; practice this very routine and 'all is coming'. An exercise routine must be FUN (so one sticks to the routine and does not get bored), the movements must be easy to do and the results must be quick and visible. All of this MUST be incorporated into an environement of SAFE exercise protocol so one does not get hurt.
SP: I totally agree, if a program is not entertaining or 'doable' to the user, he/she will most definitely fall off the wagon unlikely to get back on any time soon. The ideal situation is to provide workouts that make the person feel as though they're not even working out...that they're instead simply having fun.
Why fitness? How did you get started on this path...with the Urban Rebounder and now your book.
JB: I have been training in the martial arts since I was a kid. In my mid twenties I had a bad knee injury and needed a workout that was easy on my body and developed the urban rebounding workout that is now in over 5000 gyms worldwide and in 18 different countries worldwide. On top of that it was voted the #1 cardio workout in the country and a Consumer Reports Top 100 Products of the Year.
SP: I've always wanted to try your Urban Rebounding system. I'm definitely going to give it a shot ASAP. So after all that, how did your new book come about? And what makes your book different?
JB: The book is one-of-a-kind and the information found inside is life altering. Most of the techniques western population has not been exposed to. The book came about by former clients and 'attendies' of my workshops.
SP: I see, so you wanted to get your word out beyond your workshops and personal clients. A book is a great way to do so. I look forward to reading it and learning a little something I may not have known before.
Every book, diet, exercise program promises something...what do you promise?
JB: I promise that if you practice what is in my book and 'all is coming'....oh yes....and the practices in the book will (no doubt) slow down the aging process from inside to outside the body. One must act and not react.
