You Got Your Body, What's Up With Your Beauty!

You Got Your Body, What's Up With Your Beauty!

Have you been spending so much time in the gym that you have neglected to wear makeup and do your hair?  Do you find yourself doing your makeup in the car?

You go to the gym so you can get in shape, but then you don’t get to really show it off because you have no time to get ready in the mornings.  There are so many little things you can do to help minimize the time you need for making yourself more beautiful.  Just like you probably take a day where you prepare your meals for the week, I like to set half a day where I pamper myself and get some of the things done below.  Doing so has alleviated stress and has allowed me more time for my daily beauty routine.

Brows - Brows are the frame of the face. They really make a big difference in improving your look.  It’s important that you go to a reputable place and get it customized to what YOU feel looks best on you.  An option I recommend is eyebrow threading.  Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line. If you have sensitive skin this is a great option for you.  (Average price $10)

Eyelash Extensions - this is where synthetic eyelashes are individually adhered to your natural lash to extend the length and/or thickness.  Lashes make your eyes pop. The great thing about them is you can customize the thickness to where you can skip mascara. This is great for an everyday look and you can also change it up and add more drama for special events.  To find a properly trained practitioner go to the Xtreme lash website and in the directory section you can find a salon near you.  The initial set can be pretty pricey but once you go without mascara it saves you so much time in the mornings while getting ready.  (average price for a full set $250 and for fills $60)

Hair - If you can afford the luxury of going to a hairdresser, then I recommend checking out a local blow dry bar - a salon where they shampoo and blow out your hair.  When you get this done it can last up to 5 days.  If your hair roots tend to get sweaty pretty easily, a dry shampoo is your best friend - perfect for the fitness chick on the go!  I am a big fan of hair tutorials on YouTube as well.  I try to find different techniques that take 5 minutes or less.

Makeup - If you’re clueless when it comes to makeup it is important to know you don’t need a lot of makeup -- you just have to have the right makeup.  Having your brows groomed and eyelash extensions already done knocks off some of the time you use for applying makeup.  Easy steps for makeup:

•    Concealer - great for really brightening the under eye and helping you look refreshed.
•    Mineral powder or tinted moisturizer - this will help smooth and even out your complexion.
•    Blush or bronzer - this will give your skin a beautiful glow and when I am on the run I personally like to use bronzer as a blush because it gives warmth and looks like a blush at the same time.
•    Mascara - this will help open the eyes.  Or if you decide to go the eyelash extension route it will save you time because it looks like you have it on already.
•    Gloss - helps finish up the look and you will be ready to roll!

Your homework for this week is to make a commitment to work on your beauty, not just body.  You can still enhance your beauty while being an athlete.  I hope these tips work out for you as they do for me when I am on the go.
