Self-Tanning Options
Whether scented with botanicals or applied with convenient towelettes, self-tanners are pretty much the same deal they’ve always been. They still contain DHA and erythrulose, which react with amino acids to turn skin orangey-brown— and the tan still only lasts about a week. You can opt for the gradual tan, for cumulative, rather than instant results— or you can combine the two, to maintain that just-back-from-vacation look. Whatever you choose, it’s a safer option than risking skin cancer from sunbathing. (The New York Times, June 3, 2010)
