Got Calluses?

As women we have to work extra hard to be considered tough in the gym. To many, being tough is a sexy trait, but rough and tough hands (especially on a lady) is sexy to no one.
After countless hours of pumping iron in the gym, you might develop what is called a callus. It’s a buildup of dead skin cells that is a result of repeated friction, such as with weight training.
Depending on how much friction there is you can even get a callus if you’re wearing gloves!
So if it seems unavoidable what should you do? Well, the good thing is that there are a bunch of remedies to keep your hands soft.
One easy option is soaking and exfoliation:
• Soak your hands in hot bath water for at least 10 minutes . You can even add some essential oils for soothing and calming benefits.
• After soaking you can use a pumice stone or a callus shaver to file down the dead skin cells. It's very important to not file too much to where it becomes painful. If this occurs you have filed more than dead skin cells.
• Use a hydrating lotion immediately after scrubbing the dead skin cells. Once a week use Vaseline or Coconut Oil and wear cloth gloves before bed so the moisture saturates throughout the night. There are different variations to this process, for example:
• Brown sugar and milk is great for exfoliation as well as hydration.
• You can make a moisturizing paste using milk powder, honey, lemon juice, and almond oil which would be applied for 15 minutes after exfoliating and then rinse off.
The next time you get calluses from doing any activity make sure and try one of my tips to get your hands soft and smooth. I always like feedback so let me know if you try it on my facebook page.
