    Default Protein Bars

There is a great company called youbars.com you pick all the ingredients and they make the bar! You can even name the bar. Its really cool. All the nutrition info is available too so you can make them high in protein, etc. If you put the word "health" in the coupon code box you get 5% off your order.

Thanks so much for the info. I just checked them out. I actually just passed along to the Phat Staff so they can look at them.
    Very cool idea.

    Hey Heather!

I had a blast this weekend! Tell Jen that walking up and down the stairs at work today is absolutely painful...that leg workout did its job and then some...even though I didn't last long in the pop squat contest.

It was an inspiring weekend! Thanks for EVERYTHING you gals do to provide an outstanding time!

hey bearclaw I sent you a message please check when you get a chance...i do have a question as far as yogurt goes it's seems to have a pretty even amount of carbs and protein maybe a little more protein, so what do I count it as? a protein? and what can I have with it? thanks

    Lady,
This really depends on what type of yogurt it is. I usually just eat it in my off-season and I always put a scoop of protein in it.
I like the low carb/low sugar yogurt. I would use the yogurt and protein as a snack in between meals.
Let me know if that doesn't answer your question.
    Have a great day

I usually take one scoop of protein right immediatley after my workout. the yogurt thing I was looking as a type of snack I just wasn't sure what to pair it up with...I also heard that if you take protein and you don't work out it turns into fat...my husband always tells me not to take it if I'm not going to work out right before...is that true. I was also wondering bear any idea where I can find some good ab workout routines I don't feel I'm doing enough for my abs...maybe you know of a good routine I could use? thanks

hey bearclaw...when you say you have fish and green veggies for dinner, how do you include a healthy fat in that? healthy fats should be included in every meal right? and when you say you have an apple for a snack? do you have anything to go with that in the form of protein and fat? I love red apples and I try to follow the protein, carb, and fat rule but I have time figuring out a protein I can add with an apple...I usually add about 7 almonds for a healthy fat, but I think I might be missing out on protein

    Lady,
I always put a scoop of protein in my yogurt. I have never heard of protein turning to fat if you don't work out???? I truly believe that if you eat the right food and do cardio/training hard enough you shouldn't have to do abs. I never do them but I'll give ya a few that I do w/ soem of my clients.
    v-ups
leg lifts w/ a db between your feet
    planks
    side planks
    sit-ups w/ a weighted ball
    hanging leg raises
    twisting crunches
    bicycle crunches
    mt climbers
    side crunches on a ball
    v-ups w/ alternating arms/feet
Hope that helped ya a little

    Lady,
I don't have a fat w/ each of my meals. For lunch & dinner I'll have a tbsp of almond butter (or you could do 8-10 almonds raw) If I have an apple for a snack, that's it just an apple.
If you feel you need something else-add a shake w/ it. Fats work different for everyone. I have a friend that gets very lean on fats and I haev another friend that gets FAT on healthy fats. You may have to experiment w/ them.

wow! that's a lot of great info and insight, thanks heather I guess I have some experimenting to do and I love the ab workouts you listed they seem a great way to boost up my energy level. I know now I am definitley not doing enough cardio I do cardio, about once a week...and I agree you shouldn't have to kill your abs everyday like I was doing...I could see cardio playing a major role in burning that fat off. my daughter is now 4 months and I feel like I 'm on a roller coaster I eat healthy for 3 or 4 days then I cheat...and feel completely miserable about it. I tell my self I should not be cheating until I get the body I want...but it's a tough journey. my arms and legs have gotten very toned but my stomach is the last to go it is still a little bloated looking uggh. I know I can do it though because my body reacts quickly to diet and excercise I just have to stay on track and pick up the cardio. I think those excercises are a good start. do u have cheat days?

    Lady,
I have a cheat meal every Saturday-even when I'm competing. If you feel like crap after you eat the bad things-remember how you will feel so that you tell yourself not to eat like that. You can do it-reward yourself w/ a good meal at the end of the week. I'll give you something to look forward too (this works for alot of people). You can do this-stay positive
