Pilates Helps Stabilize the Low Back
Pilates is a training method that includes more than 500 exercises done with or without equipment. While the technique has been around for more than 100 years, scientists are only beginning to study it. Brazilian scientists found that the Pilates “knee-stretch” built strength and muscle endurance and muscles supporting the lower spine. Spinal stabilization is the key to preventing back pain in most people. Some Pilates exercises could be an important part of an exercise program designed to prevent back pain.
