Breathing Training Improves High-Intensity Exercise Capacity
Loading the breathing muscles during inspiration (air in) increases interval training volume by 27 percent. A study from Hong Kong examined the effects of six weeks of breathing training on high-intensity exercise capacity in physically fit non-athletes. Breathing training improved performance by reducing the sensation of breathlessness and whole-body metabolic stress during intense exercise. Breathing trainers are readily available on the Internet.
